The short answer

No. One VA.gov profile save is not a change-of-address for every VA office. VA's change your address on file with VA page (last updated May 7, 2026) says you can change your address in your VA.gov profile for certain VA benefits and services. But some departments keep your address in their own separate records, so you'll need to contact them directly. The profile path, as VA lists it, covers VA health care, disability compensation, pension benefits, education benefits, claims and appeals, and Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E). Home loan benefits, CHAMPVA, the Foreign Medical Program, SGLI or Family SGLI, VGLI, TSGLI, and the other listed life-insurance programs keep separate files. The mix-up

A profile edit and a quiet mailbox get mashed into four rumors:

One VA.gov profile save updates every letter, card, and file VA has. The change-address page splits the work into a profile bucket and a contact-them-directly bucket.

VA News (June 5, 2024, VHA Office of Finance) is why a wrong address still matters on the health-care side: if you don't receive VA billing statements on time, you could accrue interest and fees and have debt sent to collection agencies. That article also notes a person can have more than one mailing address on file — family member, snowbird, and nursing home are the examples it names — and that if you are receiving all mail from VA appropriately, there is nothing you need to do at this time. What the profile actually updates

From the change-address page (last updated May 7, 2026): changing the address in your VA.gov profile updates these benefits and services, as VA writes the list:

VA health care (including prescriptions, appointment reminders, lab and test results, and communications from your VA medical center)
Disability compensation
Pension benefits
Education benefits
Claims and appeals
Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E)

How to change the VA.gov profile address

From how to change your address in your VA.gov profile (last updated November 18, 2025), as VA writes the steps:

Sign in to VA.gov with ID.me or Login.gov (create an account if prompted). If already signed in, skip to step 3.
Enter the authentication code (ID.me: text or phone call 6-digit; Login.gov: authenticator app).
Select your name top right, then Profile.
Select Manage your contact information, then Edit next to the address. You can also edit or remove phone and email on this page.
Enter the information and select Save.

Departments with separate records

The same May 7, 2026 page says these departments keep your address in their own records. Contact them directly. Hours and numbers below are as that page writes them.

Home loan benefits. Call 877-827-3702. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET. VA says they can connect you to the nearest VA regional office with loan guaranty staff to update your information.

CHAMPVA. Call the customer call center at 800-733-8387. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET. Have your last address available; customer service will need to verify this before updating your file. Foreign Medical Program. Call 877-345-8179. Monday through Friday, 8:05 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. ET. SGLI or Family SGLI (FSGLI). Update online through milConnect.

VGLI. Update online through the Prudential website, or send a signed and dated address change request to: OSGLI, PO Box 41618, Philadelphia, PA 19176-9913.

TSGLI. Contact information for your uniformed service is on the first page of Application for TSGLI Benefits (SGLV 8600): https://www.benefits.va.gov/INSURANCE/forms/TSGLIForm.htm.
