Source: VA Office of General Counsel. Inclusion does not constitute an endorsement. VA writes that the services an accredited VSO representative provides on VA benefit claims are always free, and that an accredited attorney or claims agent can charge fees. The accredited-representative FAQ says an attorney or claims agent can charge only after VA made a decision on the initial claim, VA received a fee agreement signed by both of you, and VA received VA Form 21-22a. Confirm the live VA.gov text before you rely on it.
